Bear 152 & CUBS.jpg — Protect This Park has chosen the Grizzly Bear as an emblem of it’s efforts. The bear is present in our logo and various imagery on our website and apparel.
Why Grizzlies? Grizzlies are resilient, they are multi-faceted and adaptable to the challenges presented to them environmentally, physically, and spiritually.
Many grizzlies feed, mate, den, and live in the Kananaskis Valley. Currently there is minimal protections for these iconic animals in place by our provincial Government.

What’s Next? Documentary

Protect this Park acknowledges the traditional Treaty 7 territory of the Blackfoot confederacy comprised of the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani , the Stoney Nakoda comprised of the Bearspaw, Chiniki and Wesley, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation. We acknowledge the Métis people who reside here, specifically Métis Nation Region Three. In the spirit of reconciliation Protect this Park honors the oral histories, rich knowledge, and environmental stewardship shared by First Nation Peoples. with settlers of Turtle Island.
